Thai Basil Ground Turkey
EASY WEEKNIGHT MEAL: I’ve had a few request recipes that use ground turkey. My first thought was ‘How can I make ground turkey asian inspired?” So here we are: Thai Basil Ground Turkey. This is packed with flavor and allows for much versatility when it comes pairings. You can serve with rice or on a bed of lettuce and fresh veggies. Your pick, but it’s definitely a winner for quick weeknight meals!
Ingredients:
1lb ground turkey
2 shallots
1 inch of ginger, finely chopped
2 1/2 tbsp of reduced sodium tamari (soy sauce)
1 ½ tbsp toasted sesame oil
1 tsp of fish sauce
1 tsp of sambal chili paste
1 tsp garlic powder
1 cup of fresh basil, chopped
Ground pepper to taste
Serve with rice and limes for topping

The How To:
Easiest way to make weeknights meal quick is by taking out all the ingredients and laying them out. Chop your shallots and ginger. Next, heat up a skillet, then add avocado oil. Add your shallots and ginger and sauté for 2 mins (be sure to salt them). Then add the ground turkey. Sauté for 2 minutes and then add your tamari, toasted sesame oil, fish sauce, chili paste, garlic powder and pepper. Cook until meat is completely cooked, about 5-6 minutes. Then add your chopped basil and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Top with freshly squeezed lime. Serve with with a rice of rice and sautéed bok choy (sauté in avocado oil and soy sauce).
